"Koonjitha" is not just a brand—it's a journey that started with my childhood and my mother's deep love for sarees. I still cherish the memories of her carefully selecting and collecting sarees wherever she went, always picking out special ones for my sister and me. Coming from a family where purchasing multiple sarees wasn’t easy, my mother would lovingly pick out sarees for our future weddings, creating a treasure trove of beautiful memories. Her passion became my own, and that love for sarees has shaped everything I do today.
Life took an unexpected turn in COVID-19 pandemic. I was 6month pregnant that time, very happy. My husband contracted the virus, and we were both hospitalized. He was fighting for his life and it shook me to my core. By God's grace, he began to recover the very next day, but the unimaginable happened - I lost my unborn 6month old child in the womb. Without any medical attended around I delivered in pain and was waiting for medical help. That heart- wrenching loss changed me forever and made me realize how unpredictable and fragile life truly is.
I have worked in software companies for about 12 years and always have been independent. The arrival of my daughter in 2023 gave me courage I decided to quit job be with her.
With my background in engineering and a master’s in AI, I felt a calling to combine my skills with my lifelong love for sarees. The arrival of my daughter gave me the courage to pursue my dream and start "Koonjitha." I wanted to be independent, to support my family with dignity, even if it meant earning just a little. For me, every step forward is a step towards pride and self-respect.
