Namaste, I’m Puja, the heart behind Koonjitha.

Before starting this saree journey, I spent 12 years in the software and finance industry. With a background in engineering and a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, I had a stable and successful career. But deep inside, something else always stayed close to my heart — sarees.

That love started with my mother.

Wherever she went, she collected beautiful weaves for my sister and me — especially for our weddings. She never bought those precious weaved sarees for herself. Watching her drape a saree so gracefully, and seeing the joy it brought her, planted a seed in me that I didn't even realize was growing.

In 2023, during my pregnancy, doctors told us it might be risky. I stepped away from work to focus on saving my baby. With God’s grace, I was blessed with a beautiful daughter. That life-changing moment made me look at life differently. I wanted to be present for my child but also create something of my own — something meaningful.

And that’s how Koonjitha was born on February 2025 — out of love, memories, and the desire to be independent. I wanted to bring people sarees that felt personal, real, and rooted in tradition.

Though we’re just starting, our lovely customers have shown so much love and trust. That means the world to me.
